The Result

The Brief
Using only three photographs of a design and a ground plan from Spread Design, construct a contemporary house and decking area that is flexible in its working, for use in a promotional photo-shoot on a beach in Southport.

The Solution
We created a 15m x 7m solution with structural integrity. The ground was initially prepared by laying solid 6ft columns into the sand, ensuring the house could withstand the elements and the incoming tide. An aluminium truss frame followed to create the main structural house shape. Flexible panels were added along with a roof incorporating special lighting technology to create an illuminated light box effect.

The design of the house was open plan but we created several spaces within the house, such as a library, a lounge, a hallway to give the illusion of different rooms and an outdoor decking area with canopy onto the beach.

We developed the designs, transported all materials and equipment to the location, built the structure and styled the interiors.
